**A message from our Pastor

I have served the Homer Congregational Church since July, 2005. I was born and raised in Connecticut, and served a UCC church there before coming to Homer, and I’ve been pleased to discover that I am following in the footsteps of several HCC ministers who came “out west” from Connecticut. My undergraduate degree is from Penn State University, and my M. Div. degree is from Bangor Theological Seminary. I enjoy the natural beauty of this area and the warm hospitality of this community.

These are fascinating and challenging days to be in the church, indeed to be person's of faith. In general we have more choices, more information, more options for churches and faith pathways than ever before.

That said, as a vital church we strive to do two things:

  • Understand and honor the contributions and depth of spirituality we inherit from our church founders and ancestors in the faith.
  • Reach out and share the good news of Christ in relevant, energetic ways which foster spiritual depth and relationships of openness, mutual respect, and caring.

I trust that you will find that the Homer Congregational Church is a lively, caring church that welcomes people with diverse faith backgrounds and church experiences. We emphasize God’s abounding love for all persons, and we follow the Biblical example of Jesus Christ as we strive to invite, welcome, and accept everyone into worship, friendship, spiritual nurture, and service in Christ’s name.

Our worship programs and ministries can help you deepen in faith and discover your own gifts for ministry in your daily life. I invite you to visit, worship, ask questions, and make the Homer Congregational Church your church home.
